Situation

Located in the municipality of Ell / Luxembourg, on the outskirts of the village of Colpach-Bas, the chalet is on a quiet and secluded site. The land of 89 ares includes the cottage and the camp.

Facilities

The chalet includes central heating, 18 beds, a kitchen, a large room with open fire, tables and chairs for 30 people and a toilet block with 3 showers and 4 toilets.

The location provides an ideal setting to experience camp life, enjoy beautiful hikes and run into the joys of bivouac for 1 to 3 nights.

Surroundings

Colpach-Bas is crossed by a small stream, the Koulbich, which runs along the grounds of Colpach castle. This castle once belonged to Émile Mayrisch, one of the founders of the Luxembourg steel industry, notably of the ARBED group, today Arcelor-Mittal. His widow Aline Mayrisch, born Aline of Saint-Hubert, donated it to the Luxembourg Red Cross, which operates it as a rest and convalescent home. Émile Mayrisch and Aline de Saint-Hubert rest in the park of the castle.

ONE KILOMETER ON FOOT ... and much more that is what our volunteer Max covered during the summer to find you the most beautiful journeys (with bivouac location) between Chalet Colpach and our youth training center "Misaershaff".
Many pairs of worn shoes, monstrous bulbs and bloody feet, but the result is finally there! “TRECK-IT” : a very detailed roadbook (in french) with lots of information is available for download to allow you to make the most of the northwest of Luxembourg.
